If the module LEDs are blinking, switch off immediately the mains power: you have a wrong wire connection and, most certainly, you have Live in the bus. QUADRA modules can handle wrong connections for short periods of time so it is important you switch the power off immediately.

Bus coupler provides the means to connect two or more galvanically isolated installations, allowing them to communicate with each other. This is the case of different floors or circuits protected by different earth-leak detectors.
Each bus coupler can supply the bus of up to 60 units.

The gateway provides the means for the phone to control the house. The App provides the option to control the house locally, through the local IP address of the gateway, and to control the house remotely through the Internet. In this case you have to subscribe a dynamic DNS service and configure your router (port forwarding and DNS) accordingly.

Identifying devices
Devices have a factory defined name but the idea is that you define the name of each actuator yourself, so that you better identify them. The name can have up to 32 bytes (note that special characters may use more bytes). You can also choose a different icon for better identification.
You can search devices by name.

Thermostats need a temperature sensor in the room they control. As they are often installed centrally, this temperature sensor must be remote. In QUADRA, all touch panel units contain a temperature sensor. In the thermostat configuration menu, press SELECT KEY and then press any key of the touch panel you want to measure the temperature: after some seconds, the temperature will appear in the thermostat menu.

When shutters are installed, usually there is no power to measure which wire is for up or for down movement. The movement direction can be inversed in the shutter configuration menu.

Scenarios may define a certain position for the shutters. For that it is necessary the module knows how long it takes for the complete movement. It is therefore necessary to measure the open and close times by pressing MEASURE on the shutter configuration menu: press to start and then to stop. Note, you can only measure open or close times for one shutter at a time.

Selecting the correct thermostat
Thermostats are usually installed centrally (DIN rail) so it is necessary to identify which thermostat controls what room. You can activate the thermostat by pressing the icon and check which valve of circuit is activated, even if you still didn’t define which panel should measure the temperature.

Thermostats get the room temperature from an associated touch panel. The temperature is reported every 20 seconds with 0.5ºC resolution. See “Association of panels to thermostats” for more details.

Heat pumps are becoming more and more common and most of them can be inverted, meaning they can be used to heat in the winter and to cool in the summer. The App provides a menu to select the season, an easy to way to select the correct operating mode of all thermostats in the house. The QD-1THCYC is a unit that controls the cycle of the heat pump that follows the general season selected for the house. All together, changing from summer to winter or vice-versa becomes a simple one-button selection in the App and all units, including the heat-pump, work accordingly.

The wall switches are equipped with 2 orange LEDs that inform the status of the outputs of the module. In the light switches, the LED is ON if the respective output is ON. If you don’t want the LED to show the status of the output, just flip the Display status switch to OFF and the LED will be permanently OFF.

Each light can be time-limited, limiting the time the light may be on. This is especially suitable for corridors or service toilets, lights that usually are necessary for a limited time. To limit the time select the time that best suits your needs in the configuration menu.

Binary inputs are voltage detector inputs in some DIN rail modules where you can connect any kind of binary (on/off) signals or contacts. Usually these inputs are used to connect motion detectors, light detectors, wind detectors or similar but you can also connect mechanical push-buttons. You can adjust the correct type in the configuration menu as well as define the behaviour you expect as reaction to these inputs.
You can assign each input to control any actuator or group of actuators you want. Check the Installation and Operating manual for details.

Follow input is a special operating mode of a binary input that causes associated outputs to follow the mode of the input. You can turn ON when input closes and turn OFF when input opens or vice-versa and you can also select if you want the action to lock or not during input closed. Check the Installation and Operating manual for details.

Each thermostat provides the means to define up to 8 different operating schedules for a certain target temperature. The definition is similar to the definition of your alarm clock with the difference that you can define an ON time and an OFF time. The schedules may overlap, dominating the highest set point in the winter or the lowest in the summer.

You can define up to 9 action schedules to automate repetitive actions in your house, as for example, switching off garden lights at certain time at night. The definition is similar to the definition of your alarm clock and you can associate the actuators you want to it.
